Should gun ownership be allowed?

Violence shouldn't be fought with more violence, it can lead to accidents like school shootings when the gun falls in the wrong hands. Even though a gun is supposed to give the owner confidence because they "can protect themselves" it often does the opposite thing because you don't know who can own a gun too, so it creates civilian insecurity. Gun ownership makes smuggling and the black market increase.
